Michelle Yi Liu began learning violin since she was 6 years old under renowned Chinese violin professor and composer Baozhi Yang.
When she was in primary school year 5, she has already finished 10th grade in violin performance exam in SiChuan, China.
She has developed and refined her violin techniques and musicality in the prestigious ShangHai Conservatory High School under famous violin professor Shisheng Zheng.
At age of 14, she has achieved 2nd place at Ming Zhu National Violin Competition in ShangHai.
She has continued her violin studies at Australian Institute of Music and Sydney Conservatorium of Music with violin Professors: ShiXiang Zhang, Robin Wilson and Charmian Gadd.

Performance experiences:
Michelle Liu has performed with major orchestras and some chamber music groups in Australia. Such as Sydney Symphony Sinfonia, ARCO Chamber Orchestra, Australia Eminence Orchestra, Balmain Sinfonia, etc. Location including Sydney Opera House, Angel Place Recital Hall, NSW Art Gallery, St Andrew’s Cathedral etc.
Teaching experiences:
Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) registered violin teacher.
Michelle Liu teaches AMEB:
From preliminary grade to 8th Grade, followed Cmus, Amus & Lmus Grades. StudentsĀ maintain High Distinction or Honours (A+ or A) in each year violin exams.
HSC preparation: Music 1, Music 2, Music Extension.

Many students have received high achievements from the annual violin competitions in Sydney. Some of them have been selected as the Winners in the international violin competition in the USA in 2024 and 2025.
